The Chosen series is an original and has not been financed by a TV network or a big movie studio. We (my husband and I) heard about it from friends long before we gave in and watched it. After the first episode we were hooked. I have included in this article hyperlinks to make it easier for you to find the information that you need to watch this series. I added the hyperlinks because, as stated earlier, this series was not financed by TV networks or movie studios. Therefore, you will not find this on any of your local networks.
What is the series about?
The Chosen is about the ministry of Jesus Christ, as observed and experienced through the eyes of the very people that He chose to follow Him. The personalities that have been assigned to His disciples are identifiable, and Jesus is very personable. It is the first multi-season show about Jesus, and will have multiple episodes and seasons.
How was the series funded?
The Chosen is crowd-funded by donations. So, we opened our wallets and are excited that we can be a part of this media production. People around the world are consuming media; we believe that as Christians we should support media that advances the Kingdom of God and has a positive influence on society. We encourage you to watch season one and prayerfully consider financially supporting this project.
We love to promote The Good News. The Good News is that God has a gift for us that we can receive by faith. That gift is an abundant life (John 10:10). We have all sinned and that sin has separated us from God (Romans 3:23). We owe a debt and death is the price required to pay that debt; death is the appropriate punishment for our sins (Romans 6:23). Jesus paid that debt for us (Colossians 2:13-14), and this is good news.
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, (Ephesians 2:8 ESV)
Sowing and Reaping
Over the years we have learned the importance of planting our financial seeds in fertile soil to support ministries that help advance the Kingdom of God. The Chosen is fertile soil to sow into financially. It is reaching millions of people around the world with the Good News. If people begin following Jesus, after watching this series, then we will take part in a wonderful harvest!
